NAPLES, FLORIDA (November 16, 2016) – Volunteers from United Mechanical, Inc, Capital Wealth Advisors, and DeAngelis Diamond came together Monday, November 14th to pack grocery bags to be delivered by the Saint Matthews House to families who cannot afford to prepare their own Thanksgiving Dinner. The Saint Matthews House not only delivers food throughout the community, but also serves Thanksgiving at their facilities.

This year, United Mechanical Inc was honored to co-sponsor the Turkey freezer truck and sent two of its employees, Jill Moreland and Jim Cloonan, to help with the huge task of moving 15,000 lbs of turkey.

“Jim and I were honored to be a part of something so impactful,” said Moreland. “So many of us take for granted the meal that we are able to enjoy on Thanksgiving. The bag stuffing was extremely well organized and although it was a large amount of work , everyone was happy to help and the positive energy was very contagious.”

The packing party took place at St Matthews House on Airport Rd in Naples. Reverend Ellison of the St Matthews House estimates that they will serve nearly 2,500 turkeys this year, between deliveries and in-facility preparation. The meals distributed during the Thanksgiving and Christmas distributions will include one turkey approximately 12-14 lbs. and a bag of groceries including traditional Thanksgiving/Christmas meal side items.

“It was great working with not only Capital Wealth Advisor and Deangelis Diamond employees but also participants of the St. Matthews House program,” said Jim Cloonan. “It is very easy to lose sight of what is really important as we get into the ever hectic holiday season but this was really a special way for UMI to give back to our community and to people who need help the most.”

Individuals receiving a Thanksgiving/Christmas meal distribution will need to qualify at http://stmatthewshouse.org/hope-for-the-holidays/.
