FORT MYERS, FLORIDA (March 7, 2019) If you were strolling through Lakes Park between 10am and 3pm on Saturday March 2nd, you may have wondered what all the commotion was about. With approximately 150 people in attendance, United Mechanical Inc’s (UMI) annual company picnic was hard to miss.
Each year UMI welcomes its 250+ member workforce to relax and have fun. It’s an event where children get goodie bags, run around in UMI-branded hard hats, co-workers throw footballs, families eat lunch together, prizes are won, and employees get rewarded.
“We have such an awesome team and it’s a pleasure to honor them at our annual company picnic,” said Mike Clark, President. “We hand out trophies to staff members from each department who show exceptional customer service and excellence in their field. What I love most about our picnic is seeing families come together. That’s the good stuff in life!”
Those who participated in this year’s picnic got to partake in numerous games and random drawings for prizes which included a 50 inch TV, Yeti cooler, Fit Bit, Apple Watch, golf clubs, gift cards, and a Samsung Galaxy Tablet that was donated by Steve Belcher, the company’s benefits representative. UMI also provided its attendees with free surrey rentals, pedal boats, bicycles, train rides, and delicious food & beverages from Cohen & Cohen Catering.
“Staff members of UMI receive 100% paid employee health insurance,” said Jim Cloonan, GM. “So we brought in a couple of reps from Florida Blue to offer free blood pressure checks and a chance to win prizes from them, too. It’s really important to us that our team members know how much we value them.”
